SYSTEMS AUTOMATION CONTROL
BACK WHERE IT ALL STARTED
The original company created by Fred and Bassam Jalbout, SACO Controls, was founded in 1987 as a company specialized in the design and manufacture of industrial control systems and panels used in nuclear and hydroelectric power stations. It was here that the two brothers began to accumulate their knowledge and experience working with LED technology.
SACO TECHNOLOGIES & SMARTVISION
The early 1990’s brought about the advent of the giant screen used at sporting and entertainment events. While, Sony’s Jumbotron was the largest screen spectators had ever experienced, the traditional projection-style technology used in the screen made for an overly bulky unit with poor contrast, lacklustre clarity and brightness, and difficult to repair or upgrade without causing total disruption to the unit itself. SACO recognized an opportunity in using LED to replace the traditional image projection technology.
SACO’s SMARTVISION LED giant screen technology employed up to 22 million LEDs per screen, generating more colors, higher resolutions and better color gamut than any other product on the market. Screens are virtually flat, affording a clear, unobstructed view from all seating angles. The LED screens also have an outstanding life expectancy at 100,000 hours and their modular design simplifies maintenance while reducing transportation costs.
As a technological leader, SACO went on to win important projects namely for the NASDAQ Market site in Times Square, U2’s Popmart Tour, numerous sports stadiums and at the opening ceremonies of the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics.
